Information
Opportunities for camping in Bryce Canyon Country are wide and varied. With elevations ranging from 4,000 to over 11,000 feet you’ll have options to camp in the desert or in high mountain forests. Here is a list of many public lands campgrounds in the area. We also have privately owned and operated campgrounds that can be found here.

Inside Bryce Canyon National Park
There are two campgrounds inside Bryce National Park labelled North and Sunset. Both campgrounds are are conveniently located and both have restrooms with flush toilets year round.

North campground
Four loops. 99 sites—loops A & B- RV campers, loops C & D – tent campers. Check www.recreation.gov for reservations for some RV sites. North campground is closer to the visitor center and general store. Coin-op shower or do laundry available during summer months.

Sunset campground
Twenty tent sites and a group site – may be reserved in advance. Sites limited to ten people – first come, first serve. No hook-ups, but a dump station (fee) is available in summer.

Backcountry campers:
Choose from eight campsites on Under-the-Rim Trail plus four campsites on the Riggs Spring Loop Trail. Elevations range from 6,800 feet to over 9,000 feet. Purchase permits in person at the visitor center for overnight stays in Bryce Canyon National Park’s backcountry. Camp only at designated sites and leave no trace. Open fires are not permitted.

Dixie National Forest

Red Canyon Campground
Located just off scenic Highway 12 in Red Canyon (Dixie National Forest). Elevation 7,400 feet. 37 campsites and one day use area. Close to hiking and biking trails, including the 5-mile Red Canyon paved trail. Open seasonally – mid-May to October. Campsites are first come, first serve.

King Creek Campground
Seven miles from Scenic Byway 12 near Tropic Reservoir. 37 campsites with picnic tables, fire pits, and tent pads. Gravel road access with some paved areas campsites. Located near the King Creek and Chimney Rock trails which lead to views of the Bryce Canyon style hoodoo formations. Fishing and boating available on Tropic Reservoir. Boat ramp at the reservoir, and six OHV loops. Drinking water and flush/vault toilets available. Water turned off in the winter.

King Creek Group Site
Provides isolation from the King Creek Campground. Excellent fro family reunions and scout camps. 2 group sites with picnic tables, fire pits, and tent pads. Drinking water, flush and vault toilets, dump station.

Panguitch Lake North
Located 1/2 mile from the lake. 39 campsites, 8 double sites, 3 group sites – all include picnic tables, and fire rings. Drinking water, flush toilets, dump station, and garbage disposal.

Panguitch Lake South
16 miles southwest of Panguitch, Utah on Highway 143. 18 tent-only campsites with picnic tables, and fire rings. Drinking water, flush toilets.

White Bridge Campground
Nestled along Panguitch Creek, 12 miles southwest of Panguitch, Utah along Highway U-143. 27 campsites, 1 double site – all include picnic tables and fire rings. Drinking water, flush and vault toilets, dump station.

Barker Recreation Area
Located in an aspen-spruce forest above 9,000 feet in elevation, adjacent to the Upper Barker Reservoir. 13 campsites, 3 group sites – all with picnic tables, fire rings, and bear proof storage. Drinking water, vault toilets. Please pack garbage out.

Blue Spruce Campground
Adjacent to Pine Creek in a blue spruce forest. 5 single campsites, 1 double site – all include picnic tables and fire rings. Drinking water, vault toilet. Please pack out garbage.

Pine Lake Recreation Area
Located in mixed ponderosa pine and spruce – 10 minute walk from most of the campsites. 33 campsites, 4 group sites – all with picnic tables and fire rings. Tent pads, drinking water, vault toilets.

Posey Lake Campground
Adjacent to Posey Lake – a small fishing lake. 21 campsites, 1 group site – all include picnic tables, fire rings, bear boxes. Drinking water, vault toilets. Pack trash out.

Coyote Hollow Camground
Four sites with quick access to Thunder Mountain Trailhead. Vault Toilet. Pack trash out.

Free camping available
10 locations – East Fork of the Sevier River near Tropic Reservoir. Group camping sites – 2 through 6, other single unit sites available.

Pine Lake
33 campsites with picnic tables, fire rings/grills and tent pads. 4 group sites with picnic tables, fire rings/grills. Day use area. Drinking water (Memorial Day – Labor Day). Vault toilets. No garbage disposal, please pack it out.

Kodachrome Basin State Park
Individual and group camp-sites. Barbecue grills, modern restrooms. Most facilities available during the spring, summer and fall. Click here for more details.

Escalante Petrified Forest State Park
22 sites, restrooms, showers, picnic areas, group camping. Tent campsites at Wide Hollow Campground. Lake View RV campground sites can accommodate RVs up to 40 feet, pull-through + back-in sites with hookups. Located three miles west of Escalante. The Calf Creek Falls Recreation Area campground
5,400 feet elevation – Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument. 14 developed campsites, fresh water, and restrooms. 15 miles east of Escalante – Highway 12. Reservations 1-435-826-5600.
