Five Questions to Ask When Traveling to Bryce Canyon Country

We know each time you plan a vacation, you have questions! With search engines, Pinterest and numerous sources for content, we hope this post answers all your immediate questions regarding your next trip to Bryce Canyon Country.

  1. What’s the weather like in Bryce Canyon Country?
A vacation planner knows that the weather is important to consider when traveling. At an elevation of 8,000-9,000 feet (2438.4-2743.2 meters), the Bryce Canyon area varies throughout the day and throughout the seasons of the year.

When looking at different activities, we know the weather can be a big factor in what you decide. For example, slot canyons can contain water at different times throughout the year, but they are often cooler and wonderful choices to escape the heat in July.

In the summer, you’ll find high temperatures averaging at about 83 degrees Fahrenheit (28 degrees Celsius)  and lows of 47 degrees Fahrenheit (8 degrees Celsius). In the winter, be sure to bundle up for the 15-40 degrees Fahrenheit (-9-4 degree Celsius) (although that varies too!).

  2. What’s the best time of year to visit Bryce Canyon National Park?
If you don’t like crowds, you might want to consider visiting Bryce Canyon National Park in the winter! The national park is open year-round and is just as beautiful, if not more so, in the winter months. The sunlight glimmers off the red rock spires and hoodoos that make the area so iconic.

If you’re set on traveling in the summer, avoid the crowds by exploring off the beaten path into Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, Kodachrome Basin State Park, Dixie National Forest and more. Find solitude in the slot canyons or commune with the nature of the forest as the wind rushes through your hair on an ATV.

There are multiple places beyond Bryce Canyon National Park that offer unique and adventurous experiences without the crowded nature of the tourist areas.
